Facing away from main road onto Smithy Hill. A late C18 or early C19 alteration
into tenements of C17 building. Two-storeys, irregularly coursed sandstone and
gritstone with large quoins to No 173. Stone slate roof. Single and 2-light square
mullion windows in squared surrounds. Garage doors inserted ground floor but a
splayed reveal window opening remains formerly with chamfered mullions. Included
for group value.
