House and attached barn and cottage. House dated 1731, barn added
shortly afterwards, cottage added C19, mid C20 alterations including
addition of rear outshut. Banner-dressed stone, dressed quoins to
house and barn, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. House: 2-cell, central
lobby-entry plan. Doorway has tie-stone jambs with chamfer which rises
to form false ogee lintel, over which is small date plaque. To either
side former 4-light double-chamfered mullioned windows with almost
square reveals now altered to 2 lights. 1st floor formerly had 3-light
windows now reduced to single light window with plain-stone surround.
Central stack to ridge.
Interior: segmental-arched fireplace with voussoirs and skewbacks.
Segmental-arched recess with monolithic jambs and impost.
Cottage to right: 2 cells, each cell having doorway and window to each
floor with plain-stone surrounds (modern glazing). Single stack to
ridge. Right-hand return has outside stone stair leading to lst-floor
doorway with monolithic jambs, possibly a taking-in-door connected
with textile manufacture. To left of house 4-bay barn, one bay of
which forms extension to house. This has large window with plain-
stone surrounds. To the left full-height cart-entry with composite
jambs. Coped gable, to left, with kneelers.
Interior: oak king-post roof with single angle struts.
