House. Dated 'ISS 1672'. Coursed squared stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys
with partial basement, 2 lst-floor windows, originally continued further
to left. Basement, on right, has quoins to right and 2 chamfered quoined
openings, that on left with later mullion and windows, that on right with
board door. Plinth. Ground floor: on left, 2 steps up to boarded door
in quoined, stop-chamfered moulded, ogee-arched doorway with dated lintel.
To its right 2 double-chamfered windows, formerly cross-windows. Moulded
band. let floor: 2 shorter similar windows with 16-pane sashes. End stack
to right. Rear: on lst floor 2 similar windows with sashes with glazing
bars. This was the last meeting place of the Quaker Community in Sowerby
Bridge (Sowerby Civic Society, Sowerby Bridge Trail, p 7).
