Bank. 1927. By Waller and Son of Gloucester. Ashlar with
parapeted roof. Classical style.
3 storeys and attic. The finely detailed facade is articulated
by 4 attached Ionic columns rising through 1st and 2nd floors
with Doric pilasters framing bays to either side, all
supporting an entablature and parapet which is balustraded in
the centre. This is over a ground floor with plinth, similar
pilasters and entablature. 7-window range in all. 5
metal-framed French windows in centre with cast-iron balconies
and cornice hoods. Similar wider and lower windows above. A
similar smaller window to either side on both floors.
Flat-topped attic storey is recessed behind balustrade. Ground
floor has 5 windows to centre with aprons and then to either
side doorways with cornice hoods, that to left on console
brackets.
INTERIOR reported as retaining banking hall with pilasters and
decorative ceiling.
