Packhorse bridge. 1734 (Hey, p.44), resited in present location later C19.
Cursed packed stone. Single elliptical arch across broad span. Band below
parapet, both rising to peak centre. Parapets terminate at each end in a shaped
stone, and on north side the wing walls bend at an obtuse angle. Causeway paved
with worn setts. The bridge, formerly New Mill Bridge over Ewden Beck, was
re-erected in Glen Howe Park when Ewden Reservoir was created; it dates from
1734 when Benjamin Milnes signed a contract with the inhabitants of Bolsterstone
to replace a timber bridge (Hey, p144) D Hey, Buildings of Britain 1550-1750,
