3.8.61 Monk's Cottage, Ye Olde
Monk's House and Rother View

GV II*

One building. C15 timber-framed and close-studded building with plaster infilling,
altered in the C16. The centre of the first floor oversails on a moulded bressummer
but the ground floor has been underbuilt at the ends in painted brick. Curved
braces at the north end. Stepply-pitched hipped tile roof. Casement windows.
Brick chimney breast on south west wall. 2 storeys. 5 windows. King-post roof
inside. There is a long C16 L-wing behind of which the timber-framing is partly
exposed and partly refaced with tarred weather-boarding.
