Farmhouse. Early C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber
framed with painted brick infill; plain tile roof. H-plan comprising
central hall range and flanking 2-bay gabled cross-wings. 2 storeys
with gable-lit attics to cross-wings. Framing: square and rectangular
panels, 4 from cill to wall-plate, with long straight tension braces
to cross-wings; slight jetties to first floor and attic with decorative
moulding to attic bressumer to left gable. Centre range: front rebuilt
in mid-C20 red brick and now rendered; stepped eaves cornice. 1:2:1
windows, C19 and C20 casements with C19 bracketed hoods. C19 pilastered
doorcase with flat hood and 6-panel door in angle between main range
and left gable. External lateral stacks to cross-wings, right truncated,
left massive and stepped; red brick stack in roof slope to rear of hall
range. Interior: deep-chamfered cross beam and heavy joists to ground-
floor room of left gable, which has partly infilled inglenook fireplace.
Mid-C20 gabled brick additions to rear of left gable are not of special
architectural interest.
