Pair of town houses, now presbytery and part of adjoining
convent; with attached garden wall. Early C19, with later C19
addition to the left; altered. Mostly sandstone ashlar, with
slate roof. Double-depth plan, the presbytery to the left
double-fronted and the other single-fronted.
2 storeys, 3+2 windows, the 1st bay slightly set back, plus a
2-window extension to the left; with a plinth, rusticated
quoins, moulded gutter cornice and coped gables. The
presbytery has the doorway in the centre and the convent has
the doorway to the right, both with moulded architraves,
cornices on scrolled consoles, and glazed and panelled doors
with overlights. The windows have plain surrounds, those of
the presbytery sashed without glazing bars and those of the
convent now top-hung casements. The addition to the left is of
coursed squared sandstone, is set back, and has one window on
each floor to the left and a mid-level window to the right,
all sashed without glazing bars. Gable chimneys and ridge
chimneys.
INTERIOR not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: the garden wall, enclosing the front and
south sides of long front gardens, is of coursed squared
sandstone with rounded coping, approx 2m high at the front and
3m high along most of the south side, with a ramp at the
junction.
