Boundary walls, gate piers and gate. C17, C18 and C19. Coursed
limestone and coursed sandstone with ashlar sandstone piers
and copings; iron gate.
Roadside wall forming boundary to south and east of Bagshaw
Hall (qv). Vehicle entrance to rear of Bagshaw Hall and gated
pedestrian entrance near south side. Short section of wall
divides front garden of Bagshaw Hall from that of The Hall
Cottage (qv).
Rear vehicle entrance has rusticated piers with upswept
pedestals to ball finials. Wall on left is of coursed
limestone with 2-course triangular copings. Wall on right is
of deeply-coursed sandstone with flat copings which sweep down
then up to the side gate: moulded plinths to rusticated shafts
with cornices and upswept pedestals to large ball finials;
restored C19 iron gate.
Wall follows curve of Bagshaw Hill to retain high ground in
front of the hall. Freestanding section of wall at north end
of front garden has a gate opening.
