Sheepwash Enclosure to south-west of
Holme Bridge

GV II

Sheepwash enclosure. Early-mid C19. Rubble limestone.
Irregular D-shaped enclosure approximately 13m in length on
straight back wall to north; the walls approximately 1.5m in
height. Gate openings at west and east ends, the latter with
gritstone piers. Another opening to south gives access to mill
stream in which the sheep were doused; small recess hole in
wall for keeping salve.
