GV II

Rectory. c1878. By Paley and Austin with later additions. Dark
brick with lighter dressings and plain-tiled roof laid in
scalloped bands and with ridge cresting.
2 storeys, 2-window range to 3-bay plan with central entrance.
Central gable with panelled doorway in pointed arch in steeply
gabled porch. 4 grouped pointed-arched lancet sash windows to
left. Right-hand bay roofed separately and set back, with wide
paired pointed- arched sash windows to ground floor in
flat-roofed bay with fretted parapet. Paired lancets over
doorway set beneath taller arch. Paired windows over left-hand
bay. Slightly lower block to left represents a later addition,
with long range of 5 lancet windows to ground floor, and 4
above. Return elevation to street with wide gable to left
which has canted bay window with narrow pointed-arched lights
to ground floor, triple window above. 4-light window in
right-hand bay and paired window above in stressed panel which
forms gabled dormer. Axial end and rear wall stacks.
