Secondary school. 1904 with minor late C20 alterations. Designed by Richard Hall. Red brick with reconstituted stone dressings and Welsh slate roofs. Rusticated plinth with stone coping. 2 storey plus attics. Domestic Revival style. Main symmetrical entrance front has 23 windows arranged 3: 1 :3:2:5:2:3: 1 :3. The central hall section has 5 segment arched windows to each floor, the outer ground floor windows obscured by small extensions, with 5 pairs of attic windows above the cornice. Slightly projecting outer wings have bold plain pilasters with 2 flat headed windows with keystones and above 2 similar segment headed windows. Above the deep dentilated cornice a single segment headed window in a steep gable. Set back 3 window stage has broad central window flanked by narrow windows, the upper central window topped with a small gable. Slightly set back entrance towers have rusticated quoins and pedimented porches with pairs of half glazed double doors with panel above inscribed GIRLS to the left and BOYS to the right, above small Venetian windows and blank towers topped with gables and small octagonal cupolas. Outer wings set back under broad gables have broad central windows, that to upper floor taller.
Returns have 4 windows on the ground floor and a round headed window above flanked by single smaller windows. Rear facade has central 3 storey block with 2 tripartite windows, the tops ones Diocletian, flanked by single tripartite windows on 2 floors. Either side projecting round headed entrances.
