II

Brick kiln. Mid C19. Red brick. Dutch type on rectangular plan. 12 round-arched flues to either side. Round-arched entrances to either end. Keel-shaped brick vault of 'perforated' type to chamber. Dilapidated condition.
A rare surviving example of a mid C19 Dutch type kiln and at present much overgrown. It is portrayed in drawings by Henry Baines dated 1867 (Lynn Museum). There is one other listed kiln in Norfolk, at Mundesley, of the conical type, and there are only 39 listed countrywide.
