Rowstock Barn

(Formerly listed under A34)

II

Aisled barn. Early-C18, with a late-C18 addition. Timber-framed, standing on a brick plinth. Timber clapboard cladding with an asbestos sheet roof. Single storey. Originally a 3-bay barn, extended by a single bay.
Tall, broad barn with deeply hipped roof, single projecting porch with hipped roof to left. Blank timber clad walling.
INTERIOR has aisled construction with jowelled posts and arched braces - a number of these have been replaced with straight braces. Queen post roof with upper collar.
This large and well preserved example of the local vernacular building style is definitely of listable quality.
