Milestone. 1730. Stone painted white. Square with domed top
and black Roman lettering and numerals. Shield of arms of
Trinity Hall College, Cambridge, above inscription - "VI MILES
TO CAMBRIDGE A.D. MDCCXXX" and a hand, with a pointing finger.
One of the milestones set up under the Trust founded to
administer a bequest from Dr Mowse, Master of Trinity Hall,
Cambridge, 1552-3, for the upkeep of the highways in and about
Cambridge.
