The Dower House

House. C16, and C19 alterations to the exterior. Timber framed, rendered and
plain tiled roofs with C19 gable end bargeboarding red brick axial ridge stack
between east-west range and domestic wing at the rear. C16 house of L-plan,
now with infilling in the angle. Two storeys. East front has three first
floor C19 hung sashes. Two canted bays also C19 on either side of doorway
under continuous lean-to roof. Rear wing also two storeys but the bay at the
west end was originally of one storey and has had the roof raised. Three first
floor windows. Interior: not inspected but one room is believed to contain
C17 run-through panelling with a frieze enriched with fan ornament, and a
fireplace with chamfered red brick surround and segmented head.
