4/39 Outbuilding immediately to west of
Brightley Barton

Outbuilding, original purpose unclear. Early C16 date suggested by doorway but this
may have been re-used from farmhouse (q.v). Plastered cob and rubble walls. Gable-
ended corrugated iron roof.
Plan: long rectangular plan suggestive of threshing barn but this may be a
subsequent use.
Exterior: single storeys. Long asymmetrical front with C16 doorframe at centre
which has a pegged doorframe with cambered/shouldered head and bowed jamb to left.
Later extension at left end.
Interior: C20 roof timbers.
