SHOBROOKE SHUTE

Farmhouse. Early C19. Stuccoed stone or brick and slate roof. 2 storeys. Double
depth plan with 3 rooms to front stair hall directly off front door to right of
centre. Rendered brick stacks to rear of central room and in end walls; towards
the front to left and rear to right. Faces south-east. Roof hipped each side.
Rusticated quoins. 4- window front. 6-panel door partly glazed. Small gabled,
timber porch with shaped bargeboards, panelled and glazed sides. Timber sashes, 8
panes per sash, all with horns. Tripartite sashes, 6 panes per sash, all with
horns each side of door. Shaped eaves brackets to front only. Casement windows to
rear. Interior preserves some original features such as straight flight stair with
open string, carved stair brackets, stick balusters and mahogony handrail.
