House at end of street row, formerly the Rose and Crown. C18. Smooth rendered,
slate hanging first floor of main block slate roofs. A wide frontage building
with a former service wing to its left, beyond a throughway, and wing at back,
left, beyond throughway. Two storeys, 1 + 3 windows. Ground floor has 2 small
tripartite sashes flanking central door with 4 vertical panels to pointed heads,
and a large square opening, left with garage door. At first floor is a large
4-pane sash in a raking dormer, then small tripartite sashes either side of
small 4-pane: all windows without glazing bars. Small stack at half-hipped left
end, large ridge stack at throughway. Plinth, dying into pavement, left.
Insurance plaque above left of doorway, Royal Exchange Insurance Company, with
architectural detail and crown.
