chantry

GV II

Garden walls and gateway. Circa early C19. High slate rubble retaining
walls. At the south end on the curved corner a pedestrian gateway with
rusticated pointed arch, impost moulding, spandrels and flanking piers with
cornices all in dressed slate. Including C19 panelled door with
intersecting tracery in top panels. In the middle there is an arched
doorway to a passage under the service wing of the house (The Chantry qv).
