Listing Text
Early 19th century single storey lodge, raised to 2-storey
circa 1900. Coursed cream sandstone with chamfered margins to
windows. Slate hanging and timber margins at 1st floor.
N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3-bay, symmetrical. Square ashlar
porch projecting at centre, breaking into 1st floor level,
ashlar coped. Decorative top-hung timber hood; small windows
on return sides, and flanking at ground. Slightly jettied
slate-hung 1st floor with 2 bipartites under eaves to outer
bays.
S ELEVATION: piend-roofed single storey projection with
doorway to E.
E ELEVATION: stone mullioned bipartite at ground with
rectangular, bracketted 4-light oriel above, breaking eaves
in piend-roofed dormer.
W ELEVATION: single window at ground with 3-light oriel
above, detailed as E elevation.
Diamond lead-paned glazing pattern to casement windows. Green
slates and overhanging eaves. Ashlar stack at centre.
