ILLUSTRATED GUIDE (l991), p 35, illustration of vinery. INVENTORY OF GARDENS AND DESIGNED LANDSCAPES Vol 3, pp209-214.

Notes:
John Clerk's topographical print of Banff reveals the walled garden in present form with 2 lean-to greenhouses against S facing wall. Garden formerly within Duff House policies, but now separated by modern road.
Bricks retained heat, conserving warmth in S facing walls for fruit growing. Bricks probably came from the late l8th century Blackpots Brick and Tile works, Whitehills.
