Notes:
Banff Tolbooth was constructed on this site in l712. Allegedly this was demolished in 1801. Surviving details such as an early 18th century chimneyhead and the rear cottage, said to be the old jail, suggest that the building was adapted rather than completely demolished. The large Venetian window may have been a feature of the former tolbooth and survived in its present blind form for traditional reasons.
