Exterior

Ashlar pylon raised up steps with inscription to front face, and bronze inscription
plates added to record names of second world war dead to either side, carries a
bronze figure of a soldier which is signed and dated, John Cassidy, 1922. The pylon
is flanked by cast iron lamp standards to either side.

A good example of memorial sculpture, which is an important focal point in the public gardens.
