History

The carriage house was probably built in the mid C19 as part of the range around the service yard of the earlier house, built 1856-1858 for Charles Wynn-Finch at Voelas.

Exterior

Built of rubble, with a slate roof and end gable stacks. One tall lower floor and attics over. The courtyard elevation has large C20 sliding doors to the former carriage houses, and 6-paned windows over. One side door. To the rear, three large offsetting buttresses. The building extends to the E by a further hip-roofed service building.

Reasons for Listing

Included as providing enclosure to the walled garden on the N side, and of group value with adjoining buildings and the garden at Voelas.
