History

Built in 1830s by John Gardner, grocer and chandler.

Exterior

Villa in classical style. Rendered and painted with low-pitched hipped slate roof with overhanging boarded eaves and low end stacks. Two storeys. Two-window range of 12-pane sashes with sillband, each window bay slightly projecting. Side entrance left through flat roofed porch with cambered headed doorway with 4-panelled overlight.

Reasons for Listing

An early-mid C19 villa retaining its character. Group value with the listed range opposite.
