History

A mid C19 shop and house first shown on the 1889 Ordnance Survey.

Exterior

A 3-storey narrow 1-bay shop and house of whitened scribed roughcast and slate roof with shared roughcast stack to the L. The shop front has a plate-glass window over a fielded-panel stallboard, and glazed door and overlight to the R. The fascia is modern. Windows are offset to the L and are replacements in original openings (originally for sashes).
The gable end and rear are pebble-dashed, with replacement windows.

Interior

Not inspected.

Reasons for Listing

Listed, notwithstanding window replacement, for its special architectural interest as a commercial and residential building of definite C19 character, and for its contribution to the historical townscape.
