Coal and Wine Tax Post, circa 1861 made by Henry Grissell. Metal circa 4 feet
high. Four legged plinth with chamfered pier above. Moulded capital band and
pyramidal top. City of London shield on front. Lettering on pier reads '24 &
25 VICT/CAP 42', makers name on rear. Coal and wine tax post indicating the
boundary at which duty was payable, that on coal dating back to the 1660s.
