C16 or earlier with early C19 additions and alterations. The High Street front
(No 77A) is a wide gabled bay and is the southern part of a late medieval house
set end on to the road. Most of the service end has disappeared but behind the
wide modern shop front the original service doors may be seen. This front is
blank above the shop. One-bay left return to Park Lane has an early C19 facade
and a modern shop window.
No 77 is an early C19 front of 2 storeys, 2 windows. Stucco with incised lines.
Low pitched hipped slate roof. 1st floor sash windows with glazing bars. Ground
floor mid C19 butcher's shop front has tiled stallrisers with "BELLINGHAM" included
in design. Projecting loggia on 4 wood columns with entablature and ornamental
cast iron top guard. At left a lower 2-storey, 2-window meat store, possibly
earlier. Stucco; hip ended tiled roof of higher pitch. 6-panel door and replaced
metal casements.
