Description

TM 37 NW CHEDISTON

2/6 Priory Farmhouse
-
- II

Farmhouse. Probably C17, with later alterations and additions. Timber framed
and plastered; roof plaintiled to front and pantiled to rear. 2 storeys with
attic to the right hand section. A single long range in 2 sections: the left
hand section has slightly higher eaves but the same ridge height. 4 windows
(2 windows to each section), C19 large-paned casements; to the right of the
left hand section is a very shallow-gabled Cl9 brick porch with 6-panel door
and rectangular fanlight. Internal stack to each section, that to the left
heavier and placed centrally. The roof over the left hand section appears to
be a replacement. Prairie Farm on map.
