House. 1859-60, by Fulljames and Waller, for the Jarvis Educational Foundation. Red brick with stone dressings. Clay plain tile roof with stone coping to gables. Large brick lateral stacks. STYLE: Tudor Gothic. PLAN: square on plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. Asymmetrical elevations. The east front has gable to right and doorway to left with canopy and stack corbelled out above with diagonally set shafts; south side with gable to left ; west side has lateral stack to right with stone weathered set-offs and 4-centred arch doorway to left with integral overlight; north side has gable to right and lateral stack to left. Stone mullion-transom windows, stone string course at first floor level and plinth with chamfered stone weathering. INTERIOR: not inspected.
