A C16 timber-framed and plastered house. Partly 2 storeys and partly 1 storey
and attics. At the north-west end there is a gabled cross wing, with a double
bow-window early C19 shop front on the ground storey and a jettied upper storey.
At the south end there are 3 C20 oriel windows. Roof thatched, with 2 gabled
dormers. Deeds of the house go back to 1685 when the property passed from James
Tyler to John Johnson.

Lidgate Stores, John O Lidgate's House Crispen Cottage, and adjoining premises,
Cottage to the north-west of Crispen Cottage and Lidgate Cottage form a group.
