House. Probably early to mid-C18. Red brick (with remains of old whitewash),
stone slate roof. Double-depth 2-bay plan. Two storeys, almost symmetrical,
with gable chimneys; offset slightly right of centre a segmental-headed
doorway with board door, 2 tall segmental-headed windows on each floor, all
with cross-window casements with glazing bars, the windows on the left set
slightly higher than those on the right, and the upper windows one pane
shorter. (Modern shop attached at right hand end). Rear has back door to 2nd
bay, altered window next to it, otherwise all segmental-headed windows,
including central mid-level stairlight like the windows at the front; windows
at 1st floor have altered glazing. Interior not inspected. Front garden,
making an acute angle with Holly Lane on the left, enclosed by wall of
sandstone blocks with rounded coping, 2 round-topped stone gateposts in line
with front door. Listed as good example of type and date, apparently little
altered externally.
