ACKLINGTON GUYZANCE VILLAGE

Outbuilding with attached pigsties, privies and middens. C18 altered mid-C19.
Rubble with some cut dressings; pantile roofs. North elevation single storey
3 + 1 bays. Left part has boarded double doors with boarded window on left
and old 12-pane casement on right; slightly-lower extension to right has
stable door. Left end stack C19, stepped with chamfered cap; right end gables
of both parts have raised reverse-stepped coping. Left return shows boarded
window in tooled-and-margined surround. Rear main part shows 3 blacksmiths'
windows, one set in blocked doorway with timber lintel, and 4-pane casement;
short walls runs south from centre of wall to join gabled privy/pigsty with
yard and midden enclosed by low walls and roughly-arched coping, and renewed
door on right return. Left part shows similar attached open midden and pigsty.
