BRINKBURN COCKSHOT

10/84 Cockshot Farmhouse

House. Probably late C17, raised and remodelled mid-C18; east extension early
C19. Roughly-squared stone with cut lintels and sills; renewed pantile roof
with one stack rebuilt in brick.

2 storeys, 3 + 1 bays. Left part has part-glazed 6-panel door in centre bay,
with blocked window above; other windows 12-pane sashes, some renewed;
original eaves line visible above upper window sills. Steeply-pitched roof.
Gables have raised reverse-stepped coping on moulded kneelers. End stacks
with chamfered caps. C19 right bay shows renewed 12-pane sash with 2-pane
casement over; coped right gable with end stack rebuilt on old base. Left
return shows blocked lst-floor door and gable window.

Rendered rear porch is not of special interest.
