5/75 The Infants' School

G.V. II
School, dated 1837 on S wall. Flint with gault brick dressings. Grey corrugated
tile roof With red clay crested ridges. One storey, four 3-light windows with
cast iron tracery. Large 4-light window with two transoms in W gables. Blocked
centre doorway with rectangular hood mould on S wall. Moulded brick eaves. Later
N wing dated 1882 in gault and red brick. Central entrance with semi-circular
headed arch. Large central chimney stack with four shafts and moulded caps. Bell
mounted between shafts.
