East of Crostwight
Hall)

Brewery or malthouse. Early C18. Brick, no roof cladding. Partly ruinous
state. Externally of one storey. West front with central doorway flanked
by one boarded window left and right. These are cross casements with roll
moulded jambs. Rear is scarred by remains of blocked doors and windows.
Gabled roof with gable heads carried on kneelers and with platbands at eaves
line. South gable incorporated into house abutting and has internal end
stack. Internally divided into two. Southern part floored and with fireplace.
Northern part with remains of high, full height coved ceiling. Against north
wall 3 fireplaces, the central one with depressed segmental arch, the outer
ones round-headed. Roof of principals on tie beams, 2 tiers butt purlins,
collars and straight windbracing. New Hall attached to south not of listable
quality.
