House, former parsonage, late C18 with early C19 addition; red brick, hipped
roofs of black unglazed pantiles and slate. In two builds each of 2 storeys;
build to left of 2 bays, 3 bays deep; build to right of 2 bays, 2 bays deep.
Principal facade to south: earlier build to left under hipped roof with black
glazed pantiles and modillions to wide eaves; recessed sashes with glazing
bars, 4 x 4 panes, under flat arches, 1 to ground floor left, 2 to first
floor; doorcase to left with open pediment, fanlight with glazing bars,
panelled part glazed door. Higher 2-bay build to right of early Cl9, hipped
slate roof, recessed sashes with glazing bars. Left return to west of 3 bays
2 storeys, hipped roof, axial stack to left; ground floor with recessed sashes
of 5 x 5 panes to first and third bays with renewed segmental arches; first
floor with 3 recessed sashes under flat arches, glazing bars 4 x 5 panes wide.
Single storey porch to centre with hipped roof of black glazed pantiles, an
early C20 addition. C19 2 storeyed addition to north and lean-to glazed
additions to east of no special interest. Interior of C18 build: roof
renewed C19, sawn soft timbers. Two staircases: a) to centre of west range,
curved, very steep, open string with stick balusters, wreathed pine handrail,
ramped at top; b) to rear of south doorway, later insertion, curved open
string with wreathed mahogany handrail having ebony and mother-of-pearl inset
over newel, stick balusters. Ground floor room to C19 build with moulded
cornice to ceiling.
