House, C16 and later. Timber frame encased in C19 red brick, restored C20.
Steeply pitched roof with pantiles replacing thatch. Two storeys and attics.
Originally an open hall with cross passage, floored and modified to lobby
entrance in C17. Fenestration generally C20. 2 and 3-light casements,
cambered and segmental arches over ground floor openings. Entrance door to
cross passage in north wall, off-centre to east. Plain brick pilasters at
corners and in line with chimney stack. West gable rebuilt C20; casements
at each floor level. Chimney off-centre to west with three linked lozenge-
shaped shafts. Attic skylights in north and south roof slopes. Lobby
entrance on south side. Pantiled lean-to on east gable. Interior: cross-
passage with two service doors, one now blocked. Winding C17 stair against
south side of stack. Jowled principal posts with arched braces to tiebeams.
