Ruined remains of the abbey house of Premonstratensian Canons, founded 1195.
Remains generally Cl3 and Cl5. Flint with some limestone dressings. Abbey
church with north aisle (south aisle incorporated in cloister), transepts,
chancel with north and south chapels. Chapter house with dormitory range
east of cloister, infirmary and some remains of refectory. Of particular
note is the early C13 chapter house entrance arch, pointed with plain
chamfers and with deeply cusped inner order on moulded corbels; two plain
flanking windows with pointed heads. Remains of blank arcading in south
wall. One staged corner buttress, C15, remains of infirmary. Scheduled
