4/52 Barn, The Old Hall

II

Barn. Dated 1666 in very large framed brick characters along street facade;
associated with initials S.I.M. Brick with pantiled roof. 2 large doorways on
street facade. Crow-stepped gables with very elaborate moulded brick gable corbels
Initials I.S. and E.B. formed by tie-ends to south. Vertical ventilation slits with
raised borders. 12 bay roof of collared principal rafters alternating with arch-
braced ties. Timber of light scantling with many repairs.
