5.6.72 White Cottages at The Great Hospital.
GV II
Almshouses. 1826 Yellow brick with stone dressings; hipped slate
roof; six tall 4-shafted brick ridge chimneys. Single storey; modified
12-window range of casements with horizontal glazing bars. Projecting
centre bay has Tudor-arched ribbed door with drip mould flanked by
2-light windows under a stepped gable. Pairs of similar smaller doors
to right and left (2 now blocked) deeply recessed in projecting porches
with drip moulds. Single porches in similar style at each end.
