Tavern).
GV II
Public house. C19 with C20 alterations. Painted brick. Plain and
pantiles. Corner site with long extension along Pottergate. Pottergate
facade:- 2 storeys. 3 widely spaced first floor windows. Corner entry
with simple pilasters and flanking mullion and transome windows with
arched transomes. Off-centre door in plain surround and large garage
opening at extreme left. Sash windows throughout. Saw-tooth cornice.
The Cow Hill facade has 2 dormer gables with shaped bargeboards, decorated
ridge-tiles and half-hipped roof on Pottergate elevation.
