The Yews
GV II
Terrace of three cottages. c1860, in a domestic Gothic style.
Coursed squared sandstone and ashlar. Steeply pitched plain
tile hipped roofs, with three ashlar ridge stacks. Two storeys.
Chamfered plinth. West elevation of six irregular bays. The
left hand bay has a single light window with moulded lintel.
Projecting bay to right has a 2-light mullioned window with
chamfered jamb, stepped and moulded lintel and moulded mullion.
Two bays to the right have 2-light casement windows set in
stop-chamfered surrounds. The right hand one has a stone
mullion and moulded lintel. Lean-to porch with double chamfered
segment pointed arched entrance with stop chamfered jambs.
Projecting bay to the right has a 2-light mullioned window, and
to the right again a single light casement with moulded lintel.
The first floor has four 2-light casements with stop chamfered
surrounds, set in half dormers, the outer ones with hipped
roofs, the middle ones with half hipped roofs.
