Garden Cottage with attached kitchen garden wall and outbuildings

Gardener's cottage with attached kitchen garden wall and associated outbuildings.
Late C18 with minor later alterations. Cottage: red brick; graded
slate roof with external end stacks. 2 storeys and attic; 3 bays. 16-
paned glazing bar sashes on each floor to left and right of central 6-panel
door (top panels now glazed) with rectangular barred overlight. Two C19
gabled dormers to top of roof slope. Single-storey brick lean-to to right
has 16-paned glazing bar sash window to front. Situated at north-east
corner of kitchen garden wall enclosing rectangular area of approximately
100 x 70m. Red brick with stone coping, chamfered on east and west sides
with ball finials to corners. Main entrance on east: sandstone ashlar
gate piers with moulded plinths and capping surmounted by ball finials.
Entrance on south through moulded stone doorway with eared architrave; similar
entrance to west with coping ramped up around doorway and ball finials.
Plain segmental-headed doorway towards west end on north. Buttresses to
outside on east. Range of contemporary lean-to outbuildings attached to
outside on north has mid-C19 casements (some leaded) with mixture of gauged
heads and stone lintels and cills. 2 heating flues and cast-iron pump
attached towards east end. Interior of cottage: has central straight-
flight staircase. Contemporary wooden fireplaces to ground-floor rooms,
left Adam style and right with Greek-key pattern.
