Description

SJ 40 SW CHURCH PULVERBATCH C.P. CHURCH PULVERBATCH

8/29 Old Stores, The Square
- and Dingleside

- II

Farmhouse, now divided into 3 cottages. C15 or C16 re-modelled early C17
with later additions and alterations, principally of late C19. Timber framed,
said partly to be of cruck construction, now roughcast, machine tile roofs.
Hall range (now The Square and Dingleside) with extended cross-wing (now Old
Stores) projecting to front on left. 2 storeys; 3 late C19 casements to
former hall range, those on first floor directly below eaves; boarded door
under gabled timber porch between first and second windows from left with
axial red brick ridge stack immediately to left; cross-wing has one late
C20 casement to left and one projecting late C19 casement immediately to left
of boarded door on right, roughly central gabled eaves dormer. Interior:
inspection of Old Stores and The Square not possible at time of re-survey
(1985), but noted as being timber framed with a reputed cruck truss to Old
Stores. Dingleside appears to have been re-built in brick and is not of
special architectural interest.
