Range of barns approx. 20 metres to west of Standish Cottage

Pair of barns, now partly garaging. Mid- to late C17 and early C18.
Weatherboarded timber frame with corrugated iron roofs. L-plan; barn
of 3 framed bays aligned approximately north-south with wing of one
framed bay adjoining to south. Framing: square panels with long straight
tension braces. East front: 2 pairs of boarded garage doors to left
and single boarded door to right. Lower addition to right with stable-
type boarded door. Gabled wing projecting to left with pair of boarded
garage doors in return front and C20 external steps up to-boarded
loft door in gable end. Interior: larger barn has tie-beam trusses
with raking struts; collar and tie-beam truss in wing with queen struts.
These barns form part of a small farmstead group, also including Standish
Cottage (q.v.). Included for group value.
