- 40m south-east of
Woodhall Farm

GV II

Barn. Probably C14 or C15 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed
with weatherboarded cladding and west gable end re-built in mid-C19 red brick,
corrugated iron roof. Wide threshing entrance in second bay from east and
door with ogee arch at north-west corner. Interior: close-set vertical posts
with long straight tension braces; roof in 5 unequal bays, arch-braced upper
cruck truss between first and second bays from west; remaining trusses a
mixture of Queen strut construction and tie beams with raking struts supporting
principal rafters; several re-used timbers in structure of framing include a
portion of inverted cruck blade by former threshing entrance (south side).
