Circa 184O. 3 storeys and semi-basement ashlar. Cornice and parapet. Cast iron
balcony of good Anthemion design on lst floor. 4 sashes with glazing bars intact.
The easternmost window bay projects and is flanked by pilasters with a semi-circular
tympanum over the lst floor window. Windows above the ground floor are set in
moulded surrounds, the centre 1st floor one having a pediment also. Modern shopfront.

Nos 153 to 158 (consec), the Roman Catholic Church of St John the Evangelist and
School adjoining form a group. (Nos 154 to 156 (consec) are local interest buildings).
