Cottages, now divided. Dated 1583, altered C19. Painted rubble, slate roof
bitumenized right half (Rose Cottage), brick stacks. 2 storeys, 3:2 bays. Wooden
casements, gabled and slate hung windows of Tanglewood Cottage break through the
eaves. Original round headed entrance centre, early C20 door, to right gabled
wooden porch. Above a buttress on Tanglewood Cottage, a square tablet contains
cartouche with insignia, including a rose and thistle, dated 1583.
